Auron lies at the head of the Tinée valley, above Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée, and at about 100 km and 1h50 to 2h from Nice Airport it is close enough for a same-day return to the coast. That is the main reason to choose a private transfer here: you can ski a full day in Auron and still sleep in Nice, Cannes or Monaco, or land at Nice in the morning and be at your accommodation before lunch. The fixed one-way fare starts from €220 in the Comfort class, per vehicle.
The fare is confirmed when you book and stays the same whatever the traffic or the weather. One chauffeur, one vehicle and your equipment travel together from the terminal to the door. In winter conditions, add 15 to 30 minutes to the journey times shown below.

The route leaves the coast along the Var and then turns into the Tinée valley, the same valley that serves Isola 2000. Instead of turning off for Isola, the road continues further up the valley to Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée, the village at its head, from where the last section climbs to the resort.
The demanding part of this transfer is the length of the valley itself: a long, winding road where shaded sections can stay icy in the morning while the sun has already cleared others. Our drivers run this valley all season and know where conditions change. From 1 November to 31 March every vehicle on the route runs on winter tyres with snow chains on board, as the Loi Montagne requires.
Count 1h50 to 2h on a normal day. After a snowfall, on a busy Saturday or when chains are needed for the last climb, allow 15 to 30 minutes more. For the return to the coast we agree a departure time that leaves margin for the conditions, and we warn you in advance if the forecast suggests leaving earlier.
Under two hours each way makes Auron a realistic day out from the coast. A typical day starts with an early pickup at your hotel, apartment or villa in Nice, Monaco or Cannes; you ski from the first lifts, and in the late afternoon your chauffeur meets you at the agreed time and place for the drive back, so you are on the coast for the evening.
Outward and return are two fixed fares, and the return time is set when you book. Many guests staying on the Riviera for a week use Auron this way two or three times, choosing the days by the forecast rather than committing to a full mountain stay. If you prefer a longer lunch in the resort or a later return, tell us when you book and we plan the day around it.
A private transfer suits travellers who bring equipment, travel with children or as a group, or want a short ski trip without renting a car and fitting chains on a mountain road. You load once at the door and the vehicle leaves when everyone is ready.
For larger groups we send two or more vehicles at the same time, each at its own fixed fare, so everyone arrives together.
