Cannes and Monaco, about an hour apart

The two towns sit at opposite ends of the Riviera, roughly 55 km apart. By car the quickest way is the A8 motorway, and on a normal day the trip takes about an hour from door to door. In July and August, or on a Friday afternoon, it can take longer, and that is exactly when a fixed price is worth having.

We collect you wherever you are in Cannes — a hotel on the Croisette, the Palais des Festivals, a villa in Super-Cannes or the old port — and drop you at the exact address in Monaco: Casino square, Port Hercule, Fontvieille, the heliport or your hotel. The fare is per car, not per person, and it does not change with traffic or tolls.

Cannes ↔ Monaco prices by vehicle class

One fixed one-way fare per class, for the whole car, from any address in Cannes. From an address inside Monaco every class can be booked too; a pick-up in the Principality carries a supplement, shown in your quote before you confirm.

Train, bus or a car with a driver?

There is a direct regional train between Cannes and Monaco-Monte-Carlo. It runs along the coast, takes a little over an hour and is the cheapest option if you travel light. You still have to get to Cannes station, and Monaco station is underground, a few minutes’ walk and a lift from the port.

There is no direct bus: you would change in Nice, and the coastal buses are slow and often full in summer. A taxi is possible, but it runs on the meter, so the price depends on the traffic.

A private transfer makes sense when there are several of you, when you have luggage, when you are dressed for an evening at the Casino, or simply when you would rather not think about timetables. The car leaves when you are ready, and the price is agreed before you set off.

Where we pick up and drop off

Any address in Cannes and any address in Monaco. The places we drive to most often:

  • Cannes: hotels on the Croisette, the Palais des Festivals, Port Canto and the old port, Le Cannet and Super-Cannes villas;
  • Monaco: Casino square and the Hôtel de Paris, Port Hercule and the yacht quays, Fontvieille, Larvotto beach, the Monaco heliport;
  • a short stop on the way — Èze village, Villefranche or Antibes — can be added when you book.

Festival, Grand Prix and Yacht Show weeks

The busiest weeks on this road are the Cannes Film Festival in May, the Monaco Grand Prix a few days later, and the Monaco Yacht Show in September. Cars run out early for those dates, so book as soon as you know your plans.

For an evening out, you can also keep the same car and driver for the whole night: the driver waits in Monaco and brings you back to Cannes when you are done.

The direct train takes a little over an hour, much like the car. The difference is the door-to-door part: with a car there is no walk to the station, no luggage on the platform and no waiting for the next departure.

Yes. Tell us when you book and we include a short stop on the way. A longer detour is priced on the longer route.

Yes. For a dinner or an evening at the Casino you can book the car by the hour: the driver waits nearby and drives you back to Cannes when you are ready.

Yes, baby seats and boosters on request. Let us know the age of each child when you book.

We drive 24/7. Pick-ups between 23:00 and 06:00 carry a 15 % night supplement; there is no luggage or weekend surcharge.
