The Nice to Zermatt private transfer is a long, comfortable drive across two countries, booked at a fixed, all-inclusive price with no surprises on arrival. Our own driver takes you the entire way, from your flight at Nice Airport, your hotel in Monaco, or a villa in Cannes, through the Alps to the Täsch Matterhorn Terminal, the last point reachable by road before the Matterhorn village itself.
Because the route runs through mountain passes and tunnels that can close or slow down without notice in winter, this is not a transfer to improvise with a rental car. Our drivers know the Simplon region well, follow the snow bulletins, and carry the right equipment for whatever the Alps bring that day.
Zermatt is car-free: Täsch and the shuttle train
Zermatt itself bans private combustion cars from its streets, which is one of the reasons the resort feels so quiet and alpine. Every private transfer, ours included, therefore ends at Täsch, a short valley town just below Zermatt with a large car park and the Matterhorn Terminal station.
From Täsch, the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn shuttle train takes about 12 minutes to reach Zermatt station, in the centre of the resort. Trains run frequently and the terminal is built for exactly this handover between road and rail, so the change is simple even with luggage and ski bags. We do not sell train tickets or quote train timetables, but the connection itself is quick and well organised.
Route options: Italy, the Simplon Pass and the Mattertal
From Nice, the drive to Täsch covers roughly 470–540 km depending on your starting point, and normally takes 5h15–6h15. Our drivers generally head along the A10 through Liguria, then north via Piedmont towards Domodossola and the Simplon Pass, which leads into Switzerland and down towards Brig.
When the Simplon Pass itself is difficult in winter weather, drivers can instead use the Iselle–Brig car-carrying train through the Simplon tunnel, a reliable alternative that avoids the open pass road entirely. From Brig, the route follows the Rhône valley to Visp, then climbs the Mattertal valley to Täsch, where we drop you at the Matterhorn Terminal.

Winter road conditions on the way to Zermatt
Mountain driving in winter calls for proper preparation, not luck. In line with the French Loi Montagne, our vehicles carry winter tyres and snow chains on board between 1 Nov and 31 Mar, ready to be fitted wherever the road requires them.
Our drivers are experienced on Alpine passes and monitor road conditions and snow bulletins before and during the journey, choosing the Simplon Pass or the Iselle–Brig car train depending on what is safest that day. There is no seasonal or night surcharge added to the fixed price for taking this extra care.
Vehicles and ski luggage
Choose the vehicle that suits your group, from a Comfort car for two or three travellers to a Van for a family with ski bags. All classes are driven by our own staff, never subcontracted, for the whole route to Täsch.
Ski and snowboard equipment travels free of charge in our vans. For sedan classes, let us know your ski equipment in advance and we will prepare the car accordingly. Child seats for infants, toddlers and older children are available free on request for any class.
