Cannes and Antibes are the two most common first stops after landing at Nice Côte d’Azur, and there are four realistic ways to reach them: the Zou! express coaches, the TER train via Nice Saint-Augustin, an official airport taxi, or a pre-booked private car. The right choice depends on your luggage, your arrival time and how many of you are travelling. Here are the 2026 fares and practical details, with the pitfalls each option carries.
Line 81 is the official Zou! airport express to Cannes, leaving both terminals and running along the A8 motorway to Cannes SNCF station, with stops serving the Antibes area on the way. A single ticket costs 21.40 € bought in advance and 21.80 € on board, with a 50 % reduction for children aged 4 to 11 and free travel under 4; groups of three to nine start at 45.80 €. Departures run roughly every 30 to 60 minutes from about 07:30, with the last Cannes-bound coach in the evening, and the coaches have luggage holds — the main reason they suit arriving travellers better than the tram. Journey time depends entirely on the motorway: allow around an hour and more in summer or during festival weeks.
For Antibes, Juan-les-Pins and Vallauris the current line is Zou! 82, which replaced the old line 250 — timetables still listed under 250 on third-party sites are out of date. A single fare is 11.00 € in advance or 11.40 € on board, with a ten-trip card at 77.00 € and group tickets from 24.00 €. It is the cheapest direct way into the Antibes peninsula and, like line 81, it carries suitcases properly. If you need reduced-mobility assistance, Zou! asks for a reservation at least 36 hours ahead.
There is no station inside the airport: the nearest one is Nice Saint-Augustin, reached by tram line 2 to Grand Arénas and roughly a ten-minute walk. From there the TER runs to Antibes in about 15 minutes and to Cannes in about 30, with departures every 10 to 20 minutes for most of the day. The tram requires the flat “Aéro” ticket at 10 €, sold only as an open return, and runs from around 05:24 to just after midnight. The train is fast and immune to motorway traffic, but the combination of tram, walk and platform change is uncomfortable with several suitcases.
Licensed taxis operate on published flat fares from the airport: 85 € to Cannes and 72 € to Antibes or Juan-les-Pins by day, with supplements applying at night, on Sundays and public holidays, and for extra luggage or a fifth passenger. Board only at the official ranks — Terminal 1 Porte A1 and Terminal 2 Porte A3 — where cars carry the rooftop sign and a visible tariff sheet. There is no booking: at peak arrival times in July and August the queue itself can take 20 to 40 minutes.
Public transport does not run through the night: the tram stops shortly after midnight, the last express coaches leave in the evening, and early-morning departures are equally limited. If you land late, or you are a family with several cases, a child seat and a hotel outside the centre, the realistic choices narrow to a taxi rank or a pre-booked car. A private transfer is fixed in price at booking, the driver tracks the flight and waits if you are delayed, and the car goes to your exact address — which matters in the old town of Antibes or on the hills above Cannes, where the coach and train leave you a further ride away.
